How do I get paid by Stim?
The short answer is: when your music has been played publicly.
This includes everything from radio broadcasts and digital music services to concerts and TV shows — and much more. Remember that this applies to performances both in Sweden and in other countries.
The longer answer is that before the money reaches your account you must have sent information to us about your music. We need to know that the work exists, that it was written by you, who your co-composers are and some other details. If the music has been played live you can stay one step ahead by reporting the performances as quickly as possible on My Pages.
You also have to keep your bank account details up to date and we must have received payment for the music period, have matched the payment against reports of the music that has been played and finally link it to your song. But we'll start with the core of the Stim world — work registration.
How do I register my songs with Stim?
By logging in to My Pages you gain access to a range of useful features for songwriters. The most important is "My works" where you enter all information about your works of music. The more information, the better. Your details are used to match your works with reports we receive from, among other sources, music services and radio stations, and those lists look a bit different. If we have a lot of information from the start, the whole payment process becomes better and faster.

Submit setlists to get your live performance payments faster
When your music has been played live, by you or someone else, you can influence how quickly you get paid. An important piece of the puzzle when we handle payments for live performances is the music report itself, meaning the setlist for the performance. It contains the artist, titles, play times and the names of the rightsholders. On My Pages, go to Report performance: Live in Sweden and submit all details about the performance there.
Recording and work of music – what's the difference?
When we talk about a work of music we mean the song or track itself, the composition if you will. A work of music can in turn exist in a range of different performances. For example the work "Visa vid vindens ängar" was created by Mats Paulson. But the work of music has been recorded by a number of different artists. The recording and the work of music are therefore not the same thing, but both are important pieces when we talk about rights in the music world. When it comes to Stim it's generally the work of music we are talking about because we manage rights for songwriters.
Update your information
When you're logged in to My Pages it's good practice to go to My details. There you can keep your bank account number, email address and home address up to date. You'll also find control information and any authorizations. By staying up to date you won't miss important information from us and you'll also ensure that the money reaches you on time.
If you're missing payment for your music
There are normal waiting times from when your music has been played until we pay compensation for it. A so-called "music period" is often divided into quarters. For example, a streaming service often reports music usage to us one quarter at a time.
If your music was played in January, the whole period January–March must therefore be completed before we receive a report. Then the music service must pay Stim for the usage within the agreed upon time. And after that we must match the money with the reports we receive.
When we have connected all the pieces and your particular work of music has been assigned an amount, we pay the money to you. We have a minimum amount threshold which means you must reach 100 SEK before the money is paid to your account.
If you have still not received your money you can submit a case report to us. Read more about how to proceed if you want to notify us about missing payment.
