Study associations
The study associations' agreement with Stim gives all local branches and districts permission to use music at events.
This means that the associations' local branches and districts do not have to obtain their own licenses from Stim.
Study associations
What does the agreement mean?
The agreement means that local branches and districts do not have to sign their own licenses with Stim. However, when the association has organized an event with music they must report it to Stim.
Report to Stim
When a local branch or a district has organized an event with music it is their obligation to submit a report to Stim with information about the number of attendees, the ticket price (or if it was free of admission) and which artist or group performed.
Reporting must be done when requested by Stim or the national organization.
Co-organized events
If several different local branches or districts have been involved in the event it is the responsible organizer who must report that the event has taken place to Stim.
Payment
When Stim has received the report we send an invoice to the organizing study association branch or to the national organization depending on what is agreed upon.
Submit repertoire?
If you have engaged a foreign artist or organized an art or classical music concert, the association must report to Stim which repertoire was performed. It is ok to send a printed program sheet or similar.
Other music uses
The agreement does not cover private radio and TV broadcasts, music on the internet or the creation of audio or video productions (e.g. CD or DVD production). Separate permission is required for such uses of music.
