What is an ISRC code – and why does it give you faster Stim payments?
ISRC is a unique code that identifies a musical work recording. When you register your work of music with Stim, it is therefore important to add the ISRC code. It makes it easier to match the number of times a song is played on music services and ensures that the correct payment is made to you.
When you register a work with Stim you always enter the title, creators, artist and much more. But no piece of information is as unique and useful for identification of a musical work as the ISRC.
Why is the ISRC code important for getting the correct payment from Stim?
When you register a work of music with Stim, it pays to add as much information as possible so that we can match the musical work when it is reported by music services. ISRC stands for International Standard Recording Code and is a code of letters and numbers that is completely unique to the recording of the song and enables precise identification.
An ISRC code connected to the work of music results in faster and more secure payments. The code also reduces misunderstandings when different versions of the work of music is played on digital platforms.
