Logged Background Music
Refers to recorded music that is played in public areas, and where the music is reported. For example, music that is played in department stores and in conjunction with boarding aircraft, in corporate videos, slide shows, etc.
Listed as Distribution Category 08 in the royalty statement from STIM.
Where does the money come from? |
Shops, transport operators, municipalities and companies, for example, pay royalties to STIM. |
How is the music reported? |
The parties which use the music report to STIM what has been played. Music publishers and composers may also do this. |
How is the money distributed? |
The sums generated by the individual performances are distributed between the composers of the music that has been played. |
When is the money paid? |
Twice a year (June and December). Each payment includes what was played during the previous six months. |
How can I file a claim/complaint? |
Log into My Pages and complete the form "Övriga reklamationer" (Other claims) under Claim. A claim must be filed within three months of receiving the royalty information from STIM. |
