Grants for music vulnerable to market forces
As the name suggests, this grant is designed to support music which is vulnerable to market forces. The grant is sometimes referred to as MEM Subsidies.
Living STIM registered authors and music publishers that have agreements with a STIM registered author are entitled to the grant for the following:
- music with remuneration from the categories Subsidised Concerts (Contemporary Classical Music), and Church Concerts
- music with a grading of B or higher performed at:
- other concerts
- Swedish Radio P2 live (Sveriges Radio P2 live)
- SVT visually
- TV4 visually
Grants for music vulnerable to market forces is payed anually in September and it is funded with money from the total payment to STIM registered copyright holders. A new form for payment was introduced in 2017.
If you receive the grant, this will be specified in your royalty note as a total amount with the following comment: "Stöd till verk avräknade inom marknadsmässigt eftersatta musikområden" (Support for work included in music vulnerable to market forces).
