About our payment on September 17

If your music played on Viaplay, Netflix, Amazon Prime, or another video service early in 2024, there is a good chance that you receive a payment in STIM’s September payment.

In the distribution, we also pay for plays in Norway, Switzerland, South Korea, and many other countries. Also covered are thousands of Swedish live performances, additional amounts for Swedish public service radio (SR), and many other music sources.

Remember that your songs must have accumulated at least SEK 100 for you to receive a payment. As long as your balance is lower, your money is saved until you reach the threshold. The payment takes place on September 17, and the money will normally be in your account within two working days.

Delayed royalties from Germany

We at STIM have an ongoing errand with the German tax office. It concerns an incorrect double-tax issue of royalty income from Germany, which would impact our rightsholders negatively. We expect a solution to this errand in 2025. Until then, some remuneration from our German sister-society GEMA may come late. Most of it will come according to plan, but in September, we will not include German royalties from online usage and television plays, which will come when the tax issue is solved.

When is the next payment?

The next royalty payment will be made on November 21, 2024 and covers Youtube, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify and many other streaming services.
