Do you play music in your store? That’s a smart move. Research shows that well-chosen music can increase sales and strengthen your brand. To use music legally in a business setting, you need a licence. Stim ensures that the money goes to the people who created the music.

Choose the right licence package for your business

In our shop you’ll find licence packages tailored to different needs. We offer three packages: Mini, Basic and Premium. Premium is our most comprehensive package and covers everything you may need.

If needed, we can tailor the packages to your business. That way you only pay for what is relevant, while knowing you have the right licences in place.

Suitable for businesses such as:

  • Grocery stores
  • Retail shops
  • Pharmacies
  • Market and stall trading
  • Wholesale businesses

How is the cost calculated?

The fee for in-store music is based on the size of the premises and the number of days you are open.

Example
Selma runs a vintage shop selling clothes, shoes and accessories. She wants to create a complete customer experience, so she always plays background music in the store. The fee she pays to Stim is calculated based on how often the store is open and the size of the premises.

In Selma’s case, the calculation is based on 240 opening days per year and a floor area of 85 sqm.

Where does the money go?

The licence fee you pay is distributed to songwriters, composers and music publishers in accordance with copyright law. Stim is owned by rightsholders and operates as a member-owned economic association with no profit motive.

Together with you as a customer, we help create better conditions for creativity and renewal in Swedish music. Today, Stim represents nearly 100,000 affiliated music creators and publishers.
