This is how it works

Join STIM

You start by signing up with STIM, either as a music creator or as a publisher. Submit the application form online and complete your registration by sending in a signed copy of the contract.
When you have been affiliated with us for five years, and have received royalty payments for three or more years, you can apply to become a member and vote at STIM´s AGM.

Register your work

When we have reviewed and accepted your application, you can log in to My Pages. That is our platform where you register your songs, which is a prerequisite to get paid.

Report performances

STIM collects reports when your music is played on TV, radio or via streaming. If your music is performed live you have to let us know by leaving a report on My Pages.

Payment!

When all parts are in place we should have received money from music usage that can be linked to your songs. Make sure that we have your account details registered in My Pages. Payments are made on a number of fixed dates throughout the year.

Your rights as a music creator are split in two parts - economic rights and moral rights. When you join us, we will help you protect your economic rights.

We make sure that you get paid for your efforts when your music is streamed, listened to or broadcasted, in Sweden and all around of the world.

It's hard to stand up for your rights all by yourself. You are not alone though, within Stim there are more than 90 000 other rights holders backing you up.

We stand up for your rights

Every individual music creator, or their music publisher, is entitled to payment when their music is played in public in Sweden and the rest of the world. You are also entitled to payment when the music is released on albums, streamed online, or used as part of a soundtrack. With our feet firmly rooted in copyright law we pledge to uphold and defend your rights as a music creator. We are a non-profit organization working to ensure that music creators and music publishers are paid for their work, and this is why all music publishers, and anyone who has created or written music that has been released commercially should join STIM. This also applies to those who have signed a contract with a music publisher, but not yet made their work available to the public.
